Adventure Travel Fam started in 2018 as a shared travel journal between two families who met on a rainy night in a hostel kitchen in Costa Rica. What began as a swap of itineraries and packing lists grew into a magazine that now reaches tens of thousands of parents every month.
Our mission is simple: make family travel less stressful and more meaningful. Every guide you read on this site was written or edited by a parent who has actually done the trip, with real kids, in real weather, on a real budget.
Our editorial principles
- Boots-on-the-ground. We only publish destination advice from editors or contributors who have been there recently.
- Honest over hype. If a place is overrated, crowded, or overpriced, we say so.
- Budget-aware. We publish a range of prices and always indicate whether an experience is a splurge or a bargain.
- Kid-tested. We note what worked, what flopped, and what we'd do differently next time.
